The Rules

  • The following are some marketing rules developed through successes, failures and observations of those brands and people that have been there and done that.

  • Rule #5: Product is critical. If it doesn’t fulfill the promise, don’t even bother.
  • Rule #4: Be relentlessly persistent. Never quit until you achieve what you set out to do.
  • Rule #3: Obsess over the consumer experience. Make it memorable and shareable.
  • Rule #2: Have a beginners mindset in everything you do. Test. Measure everything. Do more of what works. Stop doing the things that don’t.
  • Rule #1: Learn the rules of how the game is played. Break the rules. And then change the rules.
